This month saw Hutchinson Engineering launch its first direct to market product. The HanSan 1000, a foot-operated dispenser of hand sanitiser, has been designed and manufactured at the company’s headquarters in Kilrea, Northern Ireland.
Made of durable, hygienic stainless steel the HanSan 1000 is stylish, functional and enables users in high traffic areas to quickly sanitise their hands without physical contact. Designed by the in-house engineering team, the product was developed from a prototype, tested and marketed, and went into production within 10 days. A new e-commerce shop has been added to the company’s website to process enquiries and orders, and they are in the process of forming some Agents to sell the product throughout the UK.
Mark Hutchinson, Managing Director, said, “We are delighted to present our hands-free sanitiser unit, The HanSan 1000. Smartly designed in high-quality stainless steel, this foot- operated dispenser is now ready to go to market. We will produce and sell this ourselves, which is a new and different way of working for us. This health crisis has shown us how innovative, responsive and effective our team can be when we have clarity of purpose. We plan to add other new products over the next few months.”
One of the first customers to take delivery of the HanSan 1000 is John Cassidy of JKC BMW in Northern Ireland. John said, “ The HanSan 1000 is exactly what we were looking for as we gradually return to work under strictly controlled conditions. Hutchinson Engineering have produced a high-quality sanitiser dispenser which reassuringly safe to use and easy to clean. The fact that it comes from one of our best local manufacturing companies is a real bonus too.”
Hutchinson Engineering is committed to offer its skills and capabilities in the fight against Covid-19. The company recently took part in the UK Ventilator Challenge alongside McLaren, Ford and Airbus. The experience inspired the Hutchinson team to look for more product opportunities in the healthcare arena and to create its own path to market.
